La nouvelle :

Pete Tong’s Wonderland

En résumé: Pete Tong kicked off his brand spanking new residency at Ministry of Sound on Saturday and boy did it rock our socks!!.

Le toute: Warming up the Wonderland world that was the Box for the night was Paul Harris, who packed them into the Box and had the heads noddin’ and the feet stomping in time for Tongy’s arrival on the decks

Smashing the Box apart with massive tracks picked from his highly guarded box of tricks, Tong rolled the crowd along the corridors of the club, in towards the figure highlighted by strobes and a sea of arms. Pulling out some of the best tracks available in dance, noteable inclusion came in the form of Groove Armada’s brand new release ‘Get Down’ and the new one from Tim Delux Feat Si from the Audio Bullies ‘Let The Beats Roll’ -which sounded heavier than cream on the world’s best sound system- renovated tweaked and peaked for 2007.

Bringing up the rear of the main room was the formidable French man David Guetta, who pumped out the electro like a true European lothario, finishing at 7 with a Nirvana track that buoyed the soldiers of the night out into the twinkling morning.

Meanwhile, the Bar was going off - 'Kurd Maverick' rocking it, dropping dirty heavy electro beats with a few bootlegs thrown in (Justin Timberlake bootleg sending the crowd into overload), while MYNC - 'did the do' with their CR2 sound.

Gung Ho! Hosted the Baby Box with some of the finest morsels of underground filth curtsey of their larger than life label boss Matt Stuart and some favourite DJs from the roster.

The atmosphere throughout the club was awesome – a vibrant re-enactment of the vibe of NYE, only better. Good-looking boys and sexy girls stalked the levels while Tong’s 'doll like' dancers – prowled the podiums, shooting the crowd with their sexy, sullen glares- think Space Dancers and you’re there… Dressed in gothic/romantic era type costumes - corsets, big hair, frills, these characters from a outing pantomime evoked the ethos of the Wonderland, while the DJs provided the tracklist from the dreams of fantasy. .
