FUTURE MUSIC FESTIVAL 2011 – NEWLY ADDED ARTISTS BIOS.

Professor Green (UK)
Breaking out of London’s underground Hip Hop scene back in 2006 at the tender age of 23, Professor Green (aka Stephen Paul Manderson) is a prodigious rapper whose got more than just the skills to pay the bills. In just five short years he’s won the inaugural JumpOff Myspace battle rap tournament, toured with megastars like Lily Allen and The Game, and dropped a debut LP (Alive Till I’m Dead, 2010) on mega-label Virgin Records that captivated Hip Hop fans around the globe. With singles like “I Need You Tonight” (based on INXS’ classic) and “Just Be Good To Green” still doing the business in charts worldwide, and a follow up album set to drop in 2011, Professor Green is well on his way to teaching us all a thing or two about the true art of MCing. Word up: Hip Hop master class 101 is in session …

Zowie (NZ)
A gifted music school graduate who’s been drumming since she was just 11 years old, 23 year old Kiwi musician, Zowie, is a certified electronic Indie phenomenon. Blending the very best bits of Rap, Progressive Rock, Hip Hop and Electronica to craft a rhythmic space-age sound that’s all her very own, this eclectic electric young lady has quickly made a name for herself as a live act of distinction and, most of all, a name to keep a very close ear on in the weeks, months and years ahead. Aptly described as a “tiny dynamo of electrifying, positive energy”, Zowie is a unique, rare and original talent that’s simply not to be missed - period. Check out her debut singles “Broken Machine”, “Love Demolition” and “Bite Back” and you’ll see what we mean …

Binary Finary (UK)
Binary Finary first exploded onto the club scene after their release ‘1998’ became the first electronic dance track to enter the UK Top 30. A decade later and they are still impressing fans and critics around the world with their unique content and technical set up for their live performances.
Spearheaded by Stuart Matheson, and enlisting Sasha Vatoff as a live performer for many of the shows, Binary Finary LIVE are armed with a bunch of new releases and remixes, generating a huge buzz and incredible crowd feedback with a brand new live show that kicked off at Etihad Stadium, Melbourne on New Year’s Eve 2009-2010.
This world class act pump out an ever-changing set that incorporates brand new tracks and unique remakes of some favourite classics, including Rank1 “Airwave”, Armin Van Buuren “Communication" and Sasha “Xpander".
2011 is set to be another busy year for the boys. In addition to touring and taking their radio shows around the world, they will releasing their brand new studio album featuring tracks “Isle Of Lies” "Flight of Life" and "Deception".

Stafford Brothers (AUS)
If there’s a bigger name in Australian House music than the Stafford Brothers right now, then, hey, we’d like to know about it! Featuring the talents of Queensland siblings Chris and Matt Stafford, this dynamic duo are an Aussie musical tour de force that’s well on the way to genuine global superstardom. Cutting their teeth in the far north’s bubbling club scene earlier this decade, it didn’t take long before “the Staffords” established themselves as special guests and headliners at the nation’s biggest and best dance venues, music festivals and clubbing special events. Renowned for their trademark big room House sounds, as DJs they’ve toured extensively throughout New Zealand, Canada, Brazil, Asia, Europe and the UK, and flown the flag for Australian EDM with sheer aplomb. Meanwhile, as producers, they’ve torn up dancefloors and charts with huge tunes like “Give Love”, “I Can See”, and “More Than A Feeling”, and been signed to some of the planet’s finest labels including Pacha, Tinted Records, Defected and Toolroom. A regular fixture in the upper echelons of the coveted inthemix 50 DJ Poll, on the covers of countless Ministry of Sound mix compilations and now, in 2011, the humble stars of their very own reality TV show on Foxtel; the Stafford Brothers are on the verge of an epic career that many would already be envious of.

TyDi (AUS)
Since bursting onto the scene just a few short years ago, Australian Trance prodigy, TyDi (aka Tyson Illingworth), has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame. A rare musical talent who’s classically trained, the young Queenslander’s storming Trance tunes are today signed to some of the biggest labels in the world (including the likes of Armada Music, Trancetribe and AVA Recordings) and spun regularly by luminaries the ilk of Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, Markus Schulz and Paul Van Dyk. The mastermind behind epic tracks like “Is It Cold?”, “Meet Me In Kyoto”, “Under The Stars” and “Calling”, this humble Aussie EDM icon has seemingly done the lot: from collaborating with the new first lady of Trance, vocalist Audrey Gallagher, and playing to tens of thousands of screaming fans at Holland’s Trance Energy mega-party, to releasing his own full length artist album “Look Closer” and reaching the coveted #1 ranking in Australia’s inthemix Top 50 DJ Poll. Catch TyDi while you can, because he’s fast becoming a household name in Trance, worldwide.

TAI (GER)
Having spent much of his childhood collecting Hip Hop records and making beats in his native Germany, it makes more than enough sense that TAI (aka award winning producer Tai Jason) would go on to become one of the rising sons and brightest lights of the barnstorming ghetto-electro movement, globally. Since dropping his first tune “Lyposuct” on the coveted Boys Noize label alongside D.I.M back in 2009, this talented DJ/Producer has captivated the hearts, minds and ears of the jacking party House faithful with massive follow up tracks like “Fit”, “Army Of Men”, “Rocking The Set” and “Powerchords”. A firm favourite of Dim Mak head honcho Steve Aoki, TAI is now an integral part of the legendary label’s roster – having released his debut EP “Beat Down” on the iconic imprint and regularly featuring in its coveted club and festival tour lineups, worldwide. With collaborations with icons like Felix Da Housecat, Joachim Garraud and Tommy Sunshine already notched up, this one-man party producer extraordinaire is due for massive things in 2011. Stay tuned, because TAI is the next big thing.

Shazam (AUS)
Tucked away in the sleepy suburbs of Perth, since the tender age of 16 young producer Shazam has been making serious waves in the world of funked up Electro House. Establishing a name for himself as a remixer of choice for the likes of Calvin Harris, Muscles, Empire of the Sun and The tough Alliance, this gifted studio wizard has dropped dancefloor killers on labels like Kitsune, Modular and Ministry of Sound and casually topped the Beatport charts with his debut EP “Pool Party”. Travelling the planet at the speed of sound and now firmly ensconced in the taste-making Dim Mak Records fold, Shazam is well on his way to superstardom.

TheCobraSnake (US) Host and photographer extraordinaire.
Renowned for taking the candid pics that matter, US snapper TheCobraSnake (aka Mark Hunter) has carved a niche and made a name for himself as the most sought after club and party photographer on the planet today. Taking his love of the lens and late nights to new heights back in 2004, this human polaroid and good times chronicler is now a regular fixture at the biggest club nights, exclusive parties and underground get-togethers here, there and everywhere. Inimitable, irrepressible and completely unstoppable, TheCobraSnake has his eye on what’s hot and what’s not 24/7 365. From his hometown LA to London and everywhere in between, if there’s a happening party going on then TheCobraSnake is within striking distance, guaranteed. Many more artists to be announced!
