Dutch government is planning to cut in the culture- and media budgets of the national cultural sector, resulting in an increase of the VAT on tickets from 6% to 19%. The measurements will not only have large consequences for artist, foundations and other businesses in the cultural sector, but it will also affect ID&T and its events. The proposed VAT increase starting January 1st, 2011 will raise the price of dance event tickets in The Netherlands substantially when Dutch Parliament approves it next week.

For ENERGY, which takes places Saturday February 19th, 2011 in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, this will mean that the ticket price increases starting January 1st, 2011 by approximately 13%. Until then tickets for ENERGY are available at the old rate of €49,50 at energythenetwork.com.
