Vollständig: EMI MUSIC AND FUTURE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCE EXCLUSIVE “FUTURE MUSIC” LABEL DEAL

Wednesday September 12, 2012 – (Yesterday), the Australian dance music scene moves forward as EMI Music Australia and Future Entertainment launch an exclusive label deal between the two major music companies.

This new and exclusive label entitled “Future Music” will see the release of various compilations, artist signings from big international superstars through to the hottest emerging local talent, ticketing bundle offers, brand partnerships and much more to be announced soon.

Future Entertainment Director Brett Robinson commented,

“EMI has long been home to some of the most innovative, prolific and successful dance artists of our time. Similarly, Future Entertainment has forged longstanding relationships with many of these artists through years of touring and national music festivals such as Future Music and Summadayze. It makes complete sense for us to come together to form a powerful collaboration with EMI that, in essence, will work to develop even greater opportunities for our collective artists, audiences and music fans. Future Music will be a label that will find, develop and market artists with a clear view to deliver the year round soundtrack to festival and live music culture in Australia.”

EMI Music Chairman & Senior Vice President Marketing, Australasia, Mark Poston shares,

“Future Entertainment, year after year, have delivered the highest calibre of dance music artists to Australian audiences. Since the inception of both the Summadayze and Future Music Festivals, Future Entertainment has continued to deliver not only the biggest and most recognised names in the business, has also endeavoured to nurture new talent and introduce breaking artists to the Australian market from all around the world. We’re really thrilled to be collaborating with the Future Team and love all the possibilities this partnership creates. Our collective knowledge, passion for the music and our years of experience across the business makes us a really potent force.”

Earlier this year, EMI Music unveiled The EMI Dance Network, the first global organisation established by a major music company that is solely dedicated to dance music. With dance artists and dance music continuing to grow in popularity each year, the EMI Dance Network completely focuses on delivering results for artists in every major market, supporting them across all revenue streams through an efficient and globally integrated approach to this important genre. EMI has a long history of working with the top names in dance and electronic music, from the pioneers such as Kraftwerk through to seminal artists such as The Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, and LCD Soundsystem. This success continues today with EMI Music’s top electronic artists and DJs such as David Guetta, deadmau5, Nervo and Swedish House Mafia and Eric Prydz.

In Australia, dance & electronic music has been very much on the agenda with a raft of global and international club successes impacting across all the right media forms. These have come from Australia-signed artists as diverse as Empire Of The Sun, Miami Horror, The Slips, Sam Sparro, Ricki-Lee, Gold Fields, The Aston Shuffle and 360..
