Mixed By Judge Jules & Marcel Woods - Follow The Sunrise 2011.
Now every inch a major player on the EDM festival circuit, the third weekend in July will see Sunrise light up the Polish coast. Music lovers from all over continental Europe will converge on the Amfiteatr in Ko³obzeg, where, set against the backdrop of the Baltic sea, the likes of Above & Beyond, Eric Prydz, Dash Berlin, Fedde Le Grande, Dada Life and Kyau & Albert will jet in to thrill!
It's not going to be a weekend to miss... or forget!
Every world-class electronic music festival needs a world-class compilation album to bring those on-site memories back. On the 22nd of July High Contrast will be doing full justice to the Sunrise experience with the release of 'Follow The Sunrise' - their Judge Jules & Marcel Woods compiled mix-companion.
Both Mix-mechanics will (naturally enough!) be smashing the festival itself over the course of the weekend, but the album's tracklist - full details of which are below - serving as advanced-word on what they're going to be doing it with!
From the first beat of his mix, Jules is letting the drums speak, rolling out his latest studio titan 'City Nights'. With a big precedent set, hot on its heels comes Mat Zo's take of the Kyau & Albert anthem 'Be There 4 U' (aka 'Tonight') followed by a double-whammy of 'Booty Slam' and 'Brace Yourself' - the respective 'latests' from Cliff Coenraad and Jochen Miller. The centre section takes a turn to the tech with Erick Strong's 'Joker', Lee Osborne's tense, tough 'Questions' and Michael Jay Parker's title-says-it-all 'Rampage' all stirring up a storm. Bringing the mix back out into the light, with a judicious, vocally-charged climax, Jules works in the Shy Brothers mighty 'Blind Love' and Andain's (Gabriel & Dresden) comeback track 'Promises'.
On the loose on disc 2 (and fresh off the back of his third Musical Madness compilation) is audio anarchist Marcel Woods. He's right back into the thick of the action, mixing for kicks with Kryder's trance-house hybrid 'K2', 'Mush Mush' from the Bassjackers and 'Don't Ditch' - his first co-creation with the mighty Tiësto. Locking the mix into a tough groove, it wastes no time in juicing up fresh house, trance, prog and tech flavours with the likes of Dave Tort, Boys Will Be Boys (Tiësto again) and Holland's Setrise contributing. Marcus Schossow's refit of Red Carpet's soulful vocal classic 'Alright' provides the perfect springboard for Marcel to drop his 'SUNRISE' track - this year's hypersonic festival anthem. With the speakers properly prepped for the finale, he brings it with a double-hot helping of Marco V tracks ('Unprepared' and his latest 'Nuf Z') and the big, edgy trance melodies of Blake Jarell's 'Maldives' and Arty's latest 'Around the World'.
The next best thing to being at the event itself, High Contrast Pres. Sunrise 2011 will hit shop shelves and download portals on the 22nd of July. Summer just got that bit better!
