Mauro Picotto: The Lizard Man.
In 1988 he joined the finals of DMC Italy and in 1989 he won the Walky Cup Competition. Now, ten years later, the passion for music and the strong experimentation drove him so far.
Today Mauro is the label manager of BXR, the label which has recently won the award as best independent label of the year at the German Dance Awards.
He plays, creates, arranges new sound in Media Records' studios, one of the main spots where his creativity can be relieved. During the latest German Dance Awards he received 5 nominations, one of them as the Best Producer of the year. He's always working in the studios and with Mario Più co-ordinates the BXR Team, which is an avant-garde laboratory of sounds, melodies and ideas. But how is Mauro when he doesn't work? What does he like to do? He says he's a quiet person who likes staying in the studio and at home with his beautiful daughter. One of his passion is the good Italian cooking. The artist Mauro Picotto has been on the Dance scene as from many years now, and we can consider him an eclectic person, a creative person who had succeed in easing the strength to open a new trend of movement.
"We gonna get" was his first track and it drove him till the top of the European charts. After the great successes of the tracks "We Got To Live Together" and "Just Take Me Higher" he began new collaborations, as remixer and producer of artists like Cappella, 49ers, Clubhouse, More and CRW.
Four years ago, he believed and went ahead with BXR, which at its beginning was considered just a sound laboratory. Then BXR reached a defined and original sound. Among his great successes we can remember "Bakerloo Symphony", "Lizard", "Pulsar" and the recent "Iguana", in seven different versions, a track which received confirmations in the whole Europe and featured at the Top of the chart for several weeks. Among the collaborations we find "Spectra", "Imperiale" and "Arabian Pleasure", with Mario Più.
Among his latest remixes there are "See The Light" of Dumonde for UK, and the world wide remixes of "Don't Laugh" of J. Wink, "Time To Burn" of Storm, "O.T.B." of York ( Top 5 of the UK Singles Sales Chart) and "Running" of Tyrell Corp. In Italy his new track "Pegasus" has just been released, but we're waiting for the real follow up of "Iguana", "Komodo" will be the summer track. "Iguana" is at the first position in the Hit Des Clubs of France, it has just been for 3 weeks at the first position even in the German Chart. Now "Iguana" is number 1 in England, too.
